Google Apps users, send email as tasks in your online projects using Gmail contextual gadgets
As you all know, you can now add GroupCamp Project to your Google Apps domain from the Google Apps Marketplace. We are now happy to announce that you can use our first Gmail contextual gadget in the in-browser Gmail interface.
How does it work
When you receive an email in your inbox, at the bottom message, the GroupCamp gadget will be displayed. The contextual gadget allows users who are already members of an online project to transform the subject and the body of an email into a task in one of their projects without leaving their email interface.
The ultimate productivity tool for project managers and leaders
Most managers who worry about not being overwhelmed by email try to make todo lists out of them. It is probably your single most important task of the day: processing your whole inbox. But usually, transforming the email into an action item for your team usually takes time. The action of sorting and dispatching the email to the right project and then assiging the action item to the right team member is a path full of obstacles.

What is great about the email gadget is that it allows you within your email to access all your projects and select the most relevant task list for an email. Once your task list is selected you can directly assign the task to the right team member in that project.
For those of you familiar with GTD (Getting Things Done), this gadget helps take care of the things which take under two minutes and which you want to do right away. We are working on providing another gadget which will help you process emails which only serve as reference for a project. The role of the gadget will be to help you file it in the right project with its attached files.
Restrictions
Please note that the Gadget will work on initial received emails only and not on replies. This is a Google limitation and we hope to make it work also on email replies.
